Celebrating the life of

Patricia Lynn Parker Lanier

October 05, 1956 - February 19, 2016

Patricia Lynn Parker Lanier

Patricia Parker Lanier was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 5, 1956. After fighting a courageous battle of an abrupt cancer diagnosis, while in the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA, she passed away on February 19, 2016. She was surrounded by those dearest to her, her two sisters and three sons, as she fought through her last day on earth before entering eternal life and in to the welcoming arms of her mother.

Patricia is survived by her three sons: Michael, Joshua, Christopher (daughter Alyssa); father: Charles R. Parker, Sr.; siblings: Joan C. Parker (husband Robert, children Robert Jr., Mark, and Marie), Donna Parker Fisher (husband Ricky, sons Tony, Scott, and Donny), Charles R. Parker, Jr. (daughters Ashley and Casey); father of her children: Emory Lanier; and a large, dearly loved extended family of relations and friends whom each held a very special place in her heart.

Patricia was a very determined, goal oriented woman that had a work ethic worth envy. Once she graduated from H.V. Jenkins High school she continued her education, receiving a diploma in Accounting from Savannah Vocational Technical School. As she advanced in her career goals, she attended Savannah Technical College where she became a graduate of both the school’s Marketing and Accounting Degree programs. Patricia worked a few different jobs throughout her career, devoting her last ten years to Livingood’s Appliance, a job which she held very dear to her heart and considered her fellow employees part of her family.

However, as much time as she devoted to her schooling and career, she always made time for the things she loved. Whether it be the influence of the sunny southern skies of her birthplace, or her infinite love of God’s breath-taking creations; Patricia loved spending her time outdoors. If there were a boat underneath her, a fishing pole in her hand or her handmade crab-catching contraption; you could not remove the smile from her face. She also loved to spend time reading books and always seemed to be on the hunt for unique collectables. Being out on the water was definitely her haven, but the undeniable fuel which crafted the entirety of her happiness was her three boys. She was their own personal cheerleader and they were her world. From watching them take their first baby steps, to making that first soccer goal (which of course the entire stadium was aware of based off that parental prideful eruption that embarrasses every young child when their parents are not the boring quiet ones in the background that are supposed to try and go unnoticed), to telling them it was okay when the little girl on the playground kicked them explaining it was just her way of flirting, to graduating high school and entering in to adulthood; her pride and joy always rooted at the growth and success of her children.

Countless lives were blessed and many of life’s precious values were learned from Patricia’s selfless nature, pure intentions, and incredible sense of humor. She loved and cherished the importance of life and family. With all the passion in her heart and her unwavering work ethic, there was never a day that went by that her family and friends did not feel the presence of her precious love. Although her presence may no longer be in a physical form, her smile will forever be in our memories and the values she lived by and lessons she taught will carry on in each and every one of us. Heaven has received an outstanding woman, and we have all gained an amazing angel.

We would love to welcome all family and friends to gather in Patricia’s honor. The date, time, and place will be posted shortly on the Fox and Weeks’ website.

Michael, Josh and Chris, We were so honored to know your mom. She always had a smile and was such a positive thinker. We loved hearing her stories, especially the ones about Black Friday and her adventures to the stores with all of you. Patricia looked forward to it every year and the bargains she would find! Your mom was a very special person, kind, and so very patient. She will forever have a spot in our hearts. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

John has been a friend of Trish since grade school and they worked together at Livingoods for several years. She always had a sweet smile and an encouraging word for you. She never passed judgment and would take you at face value. She was proud of her kids and never failed to show it. She will surely be missed.

I have worked with Patricia for many years at Livingoods. I will miss her very, very, much. She was always nice when you called. She never yelled or got frustrated. That girl was the busiest person. She made sure all of our orders were correct and on time. Folks don't realize how complex her job was. It will be difficult to find anyone like her. She taught me to try & be kind always no matter what else is going on. Be nice. I'm still learning how. I will think of her often as I continue to mimick her as best I can. erlene

I am so sorry for you as you loose your Mom, Grandmother, Sister. As we were growing up together, we were frequently mistook for twins. Although I have not seen Pat in several years, I will miss knowing that she is here with us. My thoughts, prayers and love go out to each one of you. Cindy Freeman Black
